Cocks, Terps offer South Carolina WR

One of the Palmetto State’s rising wide receiver prospects has added a pair of scholarship offers to his list.
Boiling Springs standout Brooks Foster has picked up offers from South Carolina and Maryland this spring to go along with previous bids from Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

“A lot of people have come in here to see him,” Boiling Springs coach Jeff Snipes said. “Based on what people are saying, I think he’s going to have a lot more offers in the near future. A lot of people say they’re ready to offer, but want to get him in their camps first. Georgia, Clemson and Duke are really showing high interest. I think he’s going to go to Georgia’s camp this summer.”
Auburn, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State and Wake Forest have also been evaluating Foster, who had 35 receptions for 500 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
He’s also one of the state’s top basketball players, but Snipes says Foster is slowly buying into the notion that he’s a football player on the next level.
“I think he’s beginning to see all the attention he’s receiving from major conferences in football compared to basketball,” Snipes said. “He sees he’s got a big future there.”
Foster maintains a 3.7 GPA and is expected to be a full-qualifier.
