Cocks, Terps lead for Georgia FB

Maryland and South Carolina appear to be the teams to beat for Brookwood (Ga.) fullback Antonio Lamar.
“It’s still those two, plus Georgia and Florida,” he said. “Maryland has offered me and South Carolina is talking like they’re going to offer soon. I’m not sure about Georgia and Florida, but they stay in touch with me.”

Lamar (6-2, 240, 4.56) said the Terps continue to hold a slight lead.
“They’re up there strong right now,” he said. “They’ve been on me for a long time. I’m excited about going up there for a visit.
“I’m looking forward to going back to South Carolina, too. They have a nice college atmosphere there. I like their program and the coaches.”
He has yet to schedule his official visits, but plans to do so in December.
Through nine games this season, Lamar has rushed for more than 800 yards and scored nine touchdowns in leading Brookwood to an 8-1 record. He finished his sophomore season with 1,200 yards.
Academically, he maintains a 2.7 GPA and has scored a 1050 on the SAT.
