Cochran in no rush

Canton, Mich., three-star linebacker Jalen Cochran holds nine offers already, and could be on the verge of seeing that number increase heading into his senior season.
"The bigger schools are waiting for my transcript to come out, so I should be getting more in a couple months from the Big Ten and ACC," Cochran said.

Cochran already holds one Big Ten offer and that came through from Iowa this past spring.
"I was very excited to have my first Big Ten offer," Cochran said. "I haven't been down there and seen the campus yet, but I talked with some of the coaches and the staff are really good people. They want me to play defensive end. I plan on taking a visit in a couple months."
Iowa is one of the schools Cochran said is recruiting him the hardest among those that have offered, along with Central Michigan and Toledo.
Among the schools that have yet to offer, he is feeling the strongest interest coming from Arkansas, Minnesota and Purdue. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Cochran could project either defensive end or outside linebacker at the next level and is being considered for both by different schools.
"Michigan is linebacker. Michigan State is d-end," Cochran said. "Illinois probably wants me to do linebacker and defensive end. Purdue I think wants me as a defensive end. Arkansas wants me to play linebacker, so a bunch of schools want me to play different positions."
With Cochran expecting more offers to come his way in the future, he is in no rush to make his college selection.
"I haven't really thought about it," Cochran said. "I am trying to see all my options first. I want a chance to visit as many schools as possible and see what I can do from there."
As a junior, Cochran lined up at both linebacker and defensive end for Canton High, registering 53 tackles and three sacks.
