Cobb one to watch in 2010

While most fans and coaches are focused on the current crop of rising seniors, several prospects from the Class of 2010 have raised some eyebrows.
One such prospect is linebacker Ryan Cobb of Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep. At 6-feet and 224-pounds, Cobb runs the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and has heard from several programs.

"I've talked to a few coaches that came to our school," Cobb said. "Coach McGovern from Boston College came and the other was Coach Flood from Rutgers."
Is he interested in both those schools?
"Yes," he responded. "I've also gotten some stuff from UCLA recently and also Clemson. I was on the phone with the coach from Iowa. I've also got close to 50 letters from Virginia over the past couple of months."
Cobb said he plans on attending a camp at Iowa on June 7, and he may attend camps at Maryland and Clemson.
While most believe he projects as a linebacker at the college level, some believe he may be a strong safety.
"Either would be fine," he explained. "I prefer safety because I like calling the defense from the back.
"This spring we've just been lifting and doing a lot of conditioning. I'm going to work on my back peddling. I'm going to work on that a lot right now, and getting faster."
Cobb also said it was too early to name any favorites.
