Cobb grabbing offers and attention

Waco (Texas) La Vega three-star cornerback Parrish Cobb went to Houston and grabbed Defensive Back MVP honors at the Rivals Speed and Skill Challenge. He also left town with another scholarship offer after a quick trip over to the Houston.
The Cougars were not the only ones to extend an offer over the last few days.

"It's exciting getting all these offers. My two recent ones were Arizona State and UofH," Cobb said. "When I was at the camp I went ahead and made the visit. They had a Junior Day but the next day I got to talk to the coaches and they seem like they know what they're doing up there. As far as Arizona State, I haven't gott to talk to a coach on the phone. Hopefully I'll be able to get in touch with him."
The trip to Houston opened his eyes a bit more to the Cougar program.
"They had a wall of champions and I didn't know they had that many good players come through there," Cobb said. "That lets me know they have a good history of sending football players to the league and things like that."
Next up for Cobb could be a stop in Austin.
"I should be going up to UT this Friday and I am hoping to pick up an offer there," Cobb said. "They've been saying they're real close. They wanted to evaluate me a little more and he said that at the Junior Day last month. [Coach Vaughn] was like my next couple of visits they should be offering so I'm going to go up there."
Texas is not the only one yet to offer showing a significant amount of interest. The Longhorns are joined by Alabama, TCU, Michigan, and Missouri. Of the schools who have offered SMU, Oklahoma, and Baylor have been in strong pursuit.
He is not ready to name a top five or a list of favorites, but he does have a few schools beginning to standout.
"Yeah, Oklahoma is standing out right now," Cobb said. "Of course Baylor. Oregon, they're standing out. I like what they do with their program. UT, they seem like they're going to come up and start doing some good things. TCU. Those are some schools that are standing out to me."
Cobb plans to take a trip to Alabama in April and a trip to Oregon in July. He currently holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado State, Houston, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Oregon, SMU, Texas State, and Tulsa.
