Coaches meeting with Williams

College coaches thought their annual coaches convention ended last week in Orlando. But take one look at the high-profile coaches preparing to visit with Plaquemine, La. blue chip prospect Ja'Kouri Williams later this week and they might think they're in Orlando all over again.
At 3:30 on Sunday, Williams is scheduled to receive an in-home visit from Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville.

That will be followed by a home visit from Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer on Wednesday. Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr visits the Williams home on Thursday.
And, the home visits come not a moment too soon.
"I'm ready to make a decision this week," Williams said. "I think it's either going to be Michigan or Tennessee, but I'm interested in what Auburn has to say, too."
"I'll probably see what the coaches have to say and then make up my mind."
Williams has already made official visits to both Tennessee and Michigan, and is slated to visit Auburn on Jan. 23.
"Michigan and Tennessee stand out right now for a couple of reason," he said.
"With Michigan, they were the first (team) to offer me a scholarship, and I've kind of developed a relationship with Coach (Fred) Jackson (a UM assistant). I feel like I can trust him, and they're a program that's always competing for the Big 10 championship. A bad year for them might be winning 9 or 10 games."
The Volunteers also have their benefits, according to Williams.
"They're a little bit closer to home," he said of the Vols. To me, they play in the toughest conference in the nation. And, they have a good situation at running back. They only have four running backs and three of them are going to be seniors next year."
Williams is a 5-foot-11, 179-pound running back, and is prized because of his outstanding 4.4-second 40-yard dash speed. He is one of the fastest players in the South.
Williams suffered an injury which kept him out of four games this year but still rushed for more than 800 yards and caught passes for 400 more yards. He also had two kick returns for touchdowns as a senior and recently participated in the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio.
"I really would like to make a decision this week," he reiterated. "I've been thinking about this a long time, and I may just do it (commit) when the coaches come in my home this week. I think it's time to make a decision when it feels right."
It looks like three high-profile coaches will be taking their swings for the speedster this week.
