Coaches flood home of four-star FB

It’s been a “Who’s Who” of coaches through the proverbial revolving door at the home of Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy standout David Holbert this week.
“It’s been pretty crazy,” he said. “Tennessee and coach Stephens was here on Sunday. Auburn and coach Gran was here Monday. Today, coach Hueber from Wisconsin, coach Porter from Oklahoma State and coach Brohm from Louisville all came to see me.

“I’ve got Louisville again next week, coach Petrino, and also coach Saban from LSU and coach Fedora from Florida.”
It’s easy to see why Holbert (6-1, 225, 4.6) is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 4 fullback in the nation by Rivals.com.
He currently has official visits set up for Tennessee (12/12), Florida (1/16) and LSU (1/23).
“I’ve got Auburn, Louisville and Oklahoma State in the running for the other two,” he said. “I haven’t decided yet on those. But UT, LSU and Florida are my top three, somewhat.”
The home state Volunteers are widely regarded as the odds-on favorite to land Holbert, although he hesitates to rank them No. 1 at this point.
“I like them a lot, but I wouldn’t say they’re my favorite,” he said. “The main thing they’ve got going for them is they’re close to home where my family would be able to come and see me. That’s a big plus.
“But I like LSU and Florida’s coaches a whole lot. I’ve been liking LSU for a long time. They’re getting some great players down there. And with Florida, I just like the all-around environment down there. I watched Chris Leak a lot this year. He’s going to be incredible. It would be fun to play with him.”
Holbert wrapped up his senior season with 20 rushing touchdowns in helping lead Brentwood Academy to a 10-2 record and a state runner-up finish.
