Coaches checking out Rigg

At 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic running back Doug Rigg is a load to bring down with the ball in his hands.
On top of that Rigg has pretty good speed and vision, and all that helps explain why he already has five offers.

Iowa, Wisconsin, Maryland, West Virginia and Rutgers have all extended offers to Rigg, who hails from one of the region's top talent-producing high schools.
"In the past couple of weeks a lot of colleges have been down to Bergen to come in the weight room and come to the school," Rigg explained. "I've met a lot of them just briefly.
"UNC has come by. Penn State, Connecticut, Hofstra, Temple and Iowa came down. Stanford, Pitt, Rutgers and some others, too."
Meeting all those coaches has undoubtedly made the recruiting process a bit more complex. It's also a sign that Rigg's offer list may be about to expand.
This summer he will have plenty of opportunities to improve his stock.
"I'm probably gonna go down to a one-day camp at Maryland. They said they wanted to see me do that. I'm going with the team down to Boston College's camp in June. Other than that I'm not sure if I'm going to others (camps)."
While at one point Rigg was comfortable talking about favorites, the increased interest has caused him to back up, pause, and take a more thoughtful look at his situation.
"Well, since I've been getting more offers it's been different. At first I had a real high favorite. Since then I've just been weighing more of my options. I'm sitting back and trying to visit all these schools before I pick a favorite.
"I'm probably gonna start narrowing it down during the season. I want to commit after the season but hopefully before 2010."
Rigg said he plans on taking his official visits in the fall before announcing his college destination.
