Coach: Wood still high on Herd

Gainesville (Ga.) offensive line prospect C.J. Wood still has Marshall in the lead, according to his high school coach.
"Yeah, I think they probably are right now (leading)," GHS head coach Bruce Miller said. "I haven't talked to him about his visit yet, but I think they've taken the lead right now."

Miller talked about the various reasons why Wood is still high on the Herd.
"The reason C.J. likes Marshall so much is because they've stuck with him," Miller said. "They haven't backed off and got scared because of his academics. They're willing to wait on him. Also, it helps Marshall is a high profile mid-major program, but loyalty is what helps them."
Miller said that other schools, namely Georgia and Auburn, have backed off of the 6-foot-4, 270-pounder because of academics.
"They've backed off, probably because C.J. is going to be close (academically)," Miller said. "But he's doing pretty well; all we really need to do is get his test scores straightened out."
Miller also added that a Louisville coach came by to check on him last week.
