Houston Booker T. Washington dual-threat quarterback Joseph Fields has already established himself as one of the top players in Houston. Now he’s working hard on making sure that his name is mentioned when talking about the top players in the entire Midlands Region.

“I’ve been working hard on my technique and film study,” Fields, who is 6-foot-1 and 214 pounds, said. “I’m trying to find my weak areas and trying to learn how to improve it. I’m spending a lot of time watching film. I want to learn what all 22 guys are doing on every play.”
It’s that type of dedication – teamed with his athletic ability – that will allow Fields to be one of the better recruits in the area this season.
Fields said Michigan, Missouri and Houston have been by the school already in the spring evaluation period.
“They all bumped into me,” Fields said. “I thought that was kind of cool. I guess I’m just enjoying it as it comes along.”
So what about scholarship offers?
“The Michigan coach told my coach that they’re probably going to offer me when they call in May,” Fields said. “The same is true with a few other schools. I guess I’m just taking a wait and see approach.”
