Coach talks about Morelli

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Penn Hills quarterback Anthony Morelli has been the subject of many rumors regarding his level of commitment to Pitt. So what does his high school coach think?
"I have no idea what's going on," laughed Penn Hills head coach Neil Gordon. "I saw the article in the paper that said Anthony was ticked off at not being named to an all-star team and he was looking around and I asked him what school he was going to yesterday. He told me Pitt without hesitation and asked me why I had asked.

"That's when I have him the paper and told him to look at it and get back with me this morning (Thursday) at 9:00AM. He hasn't shown up to see me, but I don't think there's anything to read into. He's going to Pitt as far as I know and is meeting with Walt Harris and everyone today."
The article, in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, stated that Morelli was "angered to learn that West Allegheny's Bob Palko, father of Pitt quarterback Tyler Palko, was head coach of the East All-Stars" at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, a game that Morelli was not selected to play in.
"That's crazy," said Gordon. "To get upset about that is ridiculous and I don't think there's really anything to it. Like I said, as far as I know the kid is going to Pitt. But I'm also sometimes the last to know anything."
Morelli is ranked as the No. 9 player in the country by Rivals.com. Other schools rumored to be linked with him of late are Ohio State, Penn State and UCLA.
