Clones snag another Okie

Iowa State has always had a great tradition for running backs, and next in line looks to be one of the top players from the state of Oklahoma. That's because the Cyclones have added another piece to its solid recruiting puzzle.
"I actually committed to Iowa State late last week, but I guess word is just now getting out," Ponca City running back Josh Johnson said. "I started talking about it people around here. You're the first reporter I've talked to about it. I'm committed to Iowa State, and I'm excited about it."

Johnson, who is a 5-foot-10, 204-pound three-star selection, said Iowa State assistant Barney Cotton recruited him from day one and his persistence paid off.
"He was recruiting me the heaviest," Johnson said. "He's always calling and talking to me about how I would be a good fit up there. You could tell he really cared about me."
Johnson is slated to visit Iowa State on December 16. He joins teammate Rashawn Parker on the Iowa State commitment list. Parker, a two-star athlete, could play a number of different positions. Johnson said he's ready to play tailback for the Clones.
"They have a pretty good tradition," he said. "I want to be next in line."
