Clemson leads for five-star WR
New Orleans Warren Easton five-star wide receiver Tyron Johnson had a tough task to find his top 10 college choices, but on Monday he was able to reveal his top 10 to the world.
Johnson tweeted the names of his top 10 schools one-by-one beginning at 2:50 p.m. CT, and then at 3 p.m. he posted the full list for everyone to see.
"Texas A&M, Texas Tech, LSU, Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Florida, and Tennessee," Johnson said.
The list is not in any certain order, but Johnson does have a school at the top of his list right now.
"Clemson," Johnson said. "Clemson puts a lot of receivers in the league. Sammy Watkins is just one of them. They have a great offense to get playmakers the ball in open space."
Johnson already has an official visit scheduled to Texas Tech for September 12, and he is looking at taking an official visit to Oklahoma State the weekend of November 14. He does not have a visit scheduled for Clemson yet, but he is looking to schedule something soon. Georgia has also been mentioned as a potential official visit destination.
He has been working towards graduating in December. If he is able to graduate early he plans to announce his decision at the Under Armour All-American game. If he does not graduate early, he could wait until Signing Day to announce his decision.
As a junior, Johnson caught 87 passes for 1,433 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is currently ranked No. 13 in the Rivals100, No. 2 among the nation's wide receivers, and No. 1 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Preseason Top 50.
