Late pushes along the recruiting trail from Notre Dame and Oklahoma couldn’t best what Clemson had to offer do-all athlete Khalil Barnes. Barnes closed out an amazing senior season and high school career by committing to the Clemson Tigers on Friday.

IN HIS WORDS

“The relationship I have with the coaches and other commits there is second to none. Man, so it honestly made it easy to fall in love with the place. I love the idea they have for me and how they will use me, and as everyone knows how big a degree from there will be; that is another part that made it an easy choice for me.”

WHAT CLEMSON IS GETTING

Barnes was all over the field for Bogart’s (Ga.) North Oconee High School this fall. On offense he pulled down 53 passes for 879 yards with eight scores and covered 442 yards on the ground with seven more touchdowns off 35 carries. On defense, Barnes produced 44 stops while breaking up seven passes with eight picks taking the pigskin in the end zone two more times for touchdowns.
