Rivals100 defensive back Daylen Everette isn't the loudest person in any room but on the field he makes his presence known. The Virginia native now playing at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy announced his commitment to Clemson on Saturday, picking them over North Carolina and Georgia.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"It was the family atmosphere there," Everette said. "The relationships I've had with coach Reed and coach Venables, we've been talking for almost two years so that was big. It's a very prestigious program where I'll be able to win and be developed.

"Seeing all the Virginia and IMG guys going to Clemson played a pretty big role," he said. "With my teammates down in Florida, we're really tight so it would be cool to play with them. Sherrod (Covil) and I are really cool too. We have the same trainer and everything.

"Seeing what they're doing with guys like Trayvon Mullen and AJ Terrell and Andrew Booth that's there now and could possibly go to the NFL after this year makes me feel like they can make me better and be on the same level as those guys," said Everette. "I've known Sheridan Jones for a long time too. We've trained together in the past. I've also talked to Malcolm Greene a little bit."

RIVALS' REACTION...

Everette is a really impressive defensive backs with the skill set to play cornerback or safety. He's a true ball hawk in the secondary, pulling in 11 interceptions as a sophomore before transferring to IMG. Everette has the size and strength to compete with bigger receivers on the outside and he doesn't have a problem guarding smaller slot receivers due to his overall speed, quickness, and anticipation skills. Everette is a great fit at Clemson and in their defensive scheme. They've had success with cornerbacks like him in the past and he's going into and environment he knows well. Everette is close with current Clemson defensive backs and fellow Virginia natives Sheridan Jones and Malcolm Greene along with current IMG and Clemson commit Jihaad Campbell.
