Isaiah Humphries has been an active name on the recruiting ticker. The 2018 Sachse, Texas, defensive back has been working hard to make visits and camp dates, and has a diverse range of offers early on.

Ahead of his appearance in the Rivals250 Underclassmen Challenge Presented by Under Armour, he and several teammates made a visits to Clemson and Georgia. Those visits proved positive for Humphries, who also plans on visiting Florida State later this summer in hopes of scooping up his latest big-time offer.

In his words | Georgia:

“I went there, camped with a couple of my friends and shut the camp down on the defensive side,” he said. “Seeing the campus was really nice, the coaches were great and it had a nice family environment and that’s really important.”

“I felt like the coaches really liked me,” he said. “I was out there shutting people down and they liked that a lot. It was just a really nice visit.”

On Clemson:

“I went out there because one of my coaches, Curtis Baham, actually went there,” he said. “He urged me to go out there and I was open to going out there and I really enjoyed it. It was a beautiful place; great campus, great people.”

“I talked to the coaches and they’re watching my film, saying good things about me,” he said. “I feel like they have a lot of great players and coaches, and since they didn’t lose too much last season, they’re gonna be one of the top programs again this year.”

On Florida State:

“I just feel like they’re always putting guys in the draft,” he said. “They’re always making great offensive players and great defensive players. Their staff and coaches are great and transform high school players into crazy football players.”

Rivals’ Reaction: Humphries is the son of former Penn State defensive back Leonard Humphries, so the natural inclination is to feel that there is a natural connection there. Certainly Oklahoma and Houston could be considered strong offers for him as well, but he’s clearly looking to get another couple of top programs involved in his recruitment. Humphries was about as strong in his performance in the Underclassmen Challenge as he was earlier this spring in the Dallas event of the Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour and already has the look of a very capable safety in the 2018 class.
