Clemson first visit for Florida OL

Being patient in the recruiting process has opened a few more doors for one of the Sunshine State’s top sleeper prospects.
Miami (Fla.) Carol City offensive lineman Akeem Robinson has four official visits scheduled and could be on the verge of a new scholarship offer.

“I’m going up to Clemson for my first official visit this weekend,” he said. “I don’t really know what to expect, being the first one, but I think they may be offering me a scholarship. The kind of talk like they will.”
Robinson (6-4, 263, 4.9) has long held an offer from Rutgers, dating back to the summer. South Florida came in with an offer of its own in December. He’s scheduled to visit them on Jan. 16 and Jan. 23, respectively.
He’s also continuing to draw calls from Florida, which he’s set up an official visit on Jan. 30.
“I’m keeping an open mind right now, but Rutgers is still in the front,” Robinson said. “They’ve been with me a long time. I feel pretty comfortable about them.
“South Florida is a close second right now. It’s a young, growing program. I like the direction they’re going. I think they’re doing a good job.”
Robinson is a very athletic lineman with a basketball background. He’s still developing as a football player, but has tremendous upside.
