Clements prospects enjoying success

Clements High School of Houston is undefeated this season led by their big three playmakers in safety Kyle Hoke, running back Chris Lenoir and junior quarterback Derek Carr.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Hoke has led Clements in tackles the last two seasons at linebacker, but has moved to safety for his senior season.

"He just knows how to tackle and get around the football," Clement coach Jeff Hulme said. "He's a hybrid-type player that can play a couple of different positions at the Division I level."
Hoke holds offers from Ball State and Houston, and is nearing an offer from Northwestern.
"They are getting really close and I think he really likes them," Hulme said.
Lenoir has improved his speed from last season and has recovered from a broken arm nicely to rush for 866 yards and 12 touchdowns.
"Chris has vision you can't teach," Hulme said. "He's one of those kids that get stronger as the game goes on. He's very quick and is starting to run away from people."
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound back is hearing from several junior colleges, Ball State, Kansas and Kansas State.
While Lenoir does it on the ground, quarterback Derek Carr has been successful through the air. He has thrown for 856 yards and 10 touchdowns, completing over 50-percent of his passes. The brother of NFL quarterback David Carr, the younger Carr should be a national recruit next season.
"He's a major Division I prospect," Hulme said. "He's over 6-foot-2 right now and can make all of the throws. He's getting letters from all over the country right now. He's really grown up on Texas, but I think he's open to anything.
"He knows when to put touch on it and when to drill it in there," Hulme said. "He's just got so much confidence right now and is commanding the huddle as a junior," he said.
