Clelland claims a third offer

Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh offensive tackle Lane Clelland is up to three scholarships. Already holding ones from Notre Dame and Maryland, who else pulled the trigger?
"I just got an offer the other day from Nebraska," he said. "They got back to me after seeing my film and said they offered.

"I'd say right now Nebraska and Notre Dame's offers stick out. I know Maryland and I'll consider them since they're a state school, but I like Notre Dame a whole lot with their tradition. I'm planning to go out there for a visit. As for Nebraska, I remember them when I was little and the great offensive line tradition they have."
While Notre Dame and Nebraska have caught Clelland's eye, there isn't a true favorite school.
"I'm getting a lot of interest from other colleges," he said. "I'm not going to lie, but I like the Big Ten a lot because my brother played there at Northwestern and it's a linemen conference. They've got the Midwest and northern kids from Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin."
The Maryland lineman plans to take trips to Notre Dame and Michigan in the near future. What does he hope to see?
"I really want to go and check out the staff and players," he stated. "I also want to see how I fit in with them for the next four or five years and who will help me get to the next level.
"Aside from that, I definitely want my education. That's why Notre Dame is great. Obviously I'm going to be looking for a strong football program to and then a place that just feels right."
Clelland earned all-conference honors last season for McDonogh School.
