Clear Favorite For Talented Safety

One of the best safeties in Virginia is very interested in a local school.
“Right now my leader is Virginia,” says 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety Akeem Jordan from Harrisonburg, Va. “They’re the school I’m looking at the hardest and they’re way ahead of the other schools. The coaching staff is really good and they have a good academic program. My second favorite would have to be Georgia. They have a good program.”

With good height and the ability to run the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds, Jordan put up some impressive numbers on both sides of the ball. He racked up about 80 tackles and five interceptions on defense, and on offense he ran for 2,157 yards and 32 touchdowns. You would think numbers like that would be cause for a lot of offers, but it’s not.
“I don’t have any offers now, but I should have some by the end of my senior year.”
Jordan appears to really have his eyes set on Al Groh’s program in Charlottesville.
“The only camp I’ve been to is Virginia, and it’s probably the only one I’m going to. Virginia is also the only school I’ve visited unofficially. I don’t know where I’m going to take my official visits, but I would probably like to take one to Virginia and one to Georgia.”
He seems pretty set on where he would like to go, at least for now.
“I’m not going to say when I’m going to make my decision. There’s too much that can happen. But if Virginia offers, it could speed things up.”
