Clay impressive at NIKE Camp

Racine (Wis.) Park running back John Clay, one of the top backs in the Midwest, was in Columbus on Friday to attend the NIKE Football Training Camp. He also was able to take a look at one of the schools he is interested in.
"That was my first time at Ohio State," Clay said. "I looked around campus some while I was there."

The 6-foot-2 and 220-pound Clay liked what he saw of Ohio State and enjoyed competing at the NIKE Camp.
"It was good," Clay said. "I liked it a lot. There was a lot of good competition and I got to meet a lot of new people."
In addition to Ohio State, Clay has a number of other schools on his list including his home-state college.
"I've been to one junior day, it was at Wisconsin," Clay said. "They explained the new coaching staff and what's going on there now."
Clay said the Badgers, Buckeyes and others have offered a scholarship.
"Wisconsin offered," he said. "Iowa, Ohio State, Nebraska and Illinois offered. They all sent letters.
"Right now I'm interested in all of them. USC and Texas are two others."
Clay wants to keep and open mind and continue to check out potential destinations.
"I'll probably wait and decide after the football season," he said. "I'll probably take official visits."
Clay rushed for 2,032 yards and scored 31 times during his junior season. He put up those outstanding numbers after rushing for close to 1,500 yards during his sophomore season.
