Class of 2020 DE Dallas Walker thrilled to add Tennessee offer

The Latest: As film from the 2016 starts to make its way to college coaching staffs around the country, offers are beginning to roll in for some of the nation’s top underclassmen. That group includes players who just wrapped up their freshman seasons, like Class of 2020 defensive end Dallas Walker, who recently picked up an offer from Tennessee. Rivals.com caught up with Walker to talk Vols as well as which other schools might join his offer list soon.

In His Words: “The offer from Tennessee came kind of unexpectedly. I didn’t think I was going to get any offers that early but when I got it I was exciting because it was my first one. Everyone always tells me you will remember your first one. Everybody at school was talking about it and they were surprised because I was just a freshman. It’s big for me to have an offer from the in-state school an SEC school. I’m going to get up there for a visit sometime soon.”

On other programs showing interest: “I think Louisville is probably going to be the next to offer. I went up there last month and they said they wanted to see me in person and they will offer me so that should be anytime. A few Vanderbilt coaches followed me on Twitter recently, too, so I think they’re interested as well.”

On upcoming visits: “I want to visit a lot of schools and just get to know the coaches and see what the campuses are like. Hopefully I can go to Alabama, LSU and Florida State and a few others during the spring and summer.”

Rivals Reaction: As the recruiting cycles get started earlier every year, it was a smart move for the Vols to jump in and offer Walker, who looks like a future star. It will be interesting to see how soon other schools follow suit and start adding to his list.
