to make a big impact at the college level and beyond. Rivals.com has identified
the first five-star prospects for the 2014 class and is unveiling them this
week. Ten prospects have been awarded five-stars but are not ranked at this time
and we will profile two each day. One of today's five-stars is Gardena (Calif.)
Serra cornerback Adoree' Jackson.

Scouting Report: Jackson will not blow anyone away from a
physical standpoint. He's not small by any means, but his gifts are more
concentrated in his athleticism, feel for the game and his playmaking ability.
He is the rare cornerback that can be running full speed in coverage, stop
immediately to knock down a pass or intercept it or even jump higher than anyone
on the field to make a play on the ball. Jackson has outstanding vision in
coverage and always seems to know exactly when the ball is arriving so he can
knock it away. On special teams, he is a constant threat and knows how and when
to set up tacklers, make a move around them and explode down the field for extra
yards.
Analyst's Take: "Jackson has all the tools to be a special cornerback. He
is fantastic in space, rarely gives any separation to the receiver and when the
ball is in the air Jackson has all the athleticism to knock it down or intercept
it. He's not a physical freak that overpowers receivers at the line but Jackson
is supremely athletic and has great timing to know when the ball is thrown.
Jackson is fantastic at cornerback and he's also an outstanding return
specialist who can make something happen every time he has the ball in his
hands. The Serra recruit is also a game-changer at wide receiver but everyone
pretty much agrees that his best position is at cornerback. I've seen him at
multiple events and in games and I've really never seen Jackson get smoked by a

Why He's A Five-Star: "Jackson is one of four cornerbacks to make our
initial 10 five stars in the class of 2014 and he is arguably the best in
coverage while lacking the same size of the others. He is solid at press
coverage but is very good playing off, reading the receiver and closing on the
ball. He plays the ball in the air as well as anyone, has soft hands and is an
instant offensive threat when he picks off passes. Despite needing to fill out
his frame, he's a very willing and physical tackler in run support. Jackson is
one of the best athletes in the country and is a special teams threat as well.
He reminds me of a thicker Cliff Harris with his quick feet and
electrifying play coming out of high school." -- Mike Farrell, National

His Coach Says: "He's ridiculous. The things he does, he had two punt
returns for touchdowns, he had a catch for a touchdown, he had an interception
and that was in like 13 plays last week because we blew the team out. He is a
freak. He can do everything. He's now our punter because of our kicking
situation and he had one kick last week for 50 yards. He's just an amazing kid
who can basically do anything. That's the beauty of it. He doesn't need to be
refreshed. He can go for days. There is no question he's that kind of guy like
George Farmer and Marqise Lee (former Serra stars). He might
be Marqise Lee because of his freakish athleticism. Robert Woods and
George were so smooth and able to do stuff. Marqise and Adoree' are just guys
who can do things where you're like, 'Did he just do that?'" -- Serra coach

Odds And Ends: Jackson is also a standout basketball player and a track
star who won the state championship in the long jump as a sophomore jumping
25.25 feet. ... He also ran a leg on Serra' 4x400 team that finished second in
state. ... Jackson was also nominated by the student body and the teachers for
the Life Team, a group of spiritual leaders at his Catholic high school.
