Clarke taking his time

Jefferson (La.) Riverdale 2017 linebacker Josh Clarke already holds scholarship offers from Arizona State, Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Georgia, Tulane, and Idaho, and he is enjoying the spring.
"With the recruiting process, it's going real well right now. A lot of coaches have been coming through. It's been real fun," Clarke said.

In addition to his offers he is receiving significant interest from Notre Dame, LSU, UCLA, and Oklahoma, and he plans to camp at LSU, Notre Dame, and Georgia. One thing not in his plans any time soon is a college decision.
"Right now I really don't have schools that standout," Clarke said. "I have two more years so I can really think about who are going to be my top schools."
He does have a few years and he was able to watch closely as friend and teammate Donte Jackson went through the process over the last year. Clarke learned a lot from Jackson and he continues to learn from the future LSU Tiger.
"Donte gives me little talks about recruiting all the time," Clarke said. "We talk every day about how my recruiting is going to be and how I have time to wait on things. He's just tells me a lot. He's like a big brother."
While Clarke may not be ready to focus on a few schools, but he is ready to focus on getting better. The 2015 season is on the horizon and Clarke is working to improve several aspects of his already very strong game.
"Right now I'm working on a lot - my speed, hands, hand placement, my strength, and my explosiveness, and coverage," Clarke said.
