Cincinnati QB Challenge: Top Underclassmen

Recruiting wrap: Jordan is waiting on his first offer.
Performance: Jordan might be the next big name to emerge from MLK, a program that is known for producing talent in the Detroit area. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect impressed with his ability to throw on the run, with most of his throws producing a nice tight spiral. His accuracy was also impressive for a rising sophomore and while he's still working on his footwork, his raw throwing ability makes him a prospect to watch over the next few years.

PQB
Connor Degenhardt (2017)
Westford (Mass.) Westford Academy
Recruiting wrap: Degenhardt is waiting on his first offer.
Performance: The 6-foot-5, 181-pounder has the look of an ideal pro-style passer and on Saturday, he had the results of one as well. He was very impressive on throws in the simulated pocket and showed a nice ability to put some zip on the ball. He's still working on being accurate deep down the field, but some added lower body strength will help down the line. Several schools are already looking at Degenhardt and it shouldn't be long until he adds his first offer.

PQB
Taylor Powell (2017)
Fayetteville, Ark.
Recruiting wrap: Powell is waiting for his first offer.
Performance: Powell made the long journey north for the event, but he showed no signs of travel fatigue with his performance. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect showed some nice athleticism while throwing on the run. What impressed most about Powell was his compact throwing motion, which allowed him to get the ball out very quickly. He also showed nice touch when throwing the ball deep, although he could still use some arm strength.
5
PQB
Patrick Holly (2017)
Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic
Recruiting wrap: Holly is waiting for his first offer.
Performance: It's clear Holly works hard at his craft and has spent plenty of time focusing on his footwork. He has a very clean drop back and is rarely off balance, leading to a very accurate ball. He doesn't have a huge arm and his throwing motion can be a bit elongated when he's trying to throw it deep, but the fundamental base of a college quarterback is there.
6
PQB
Jordan McAfee (2017)
Everett, Mass.
Recruiting wrap: McAfee is waiting on his first offer.
Performance: McAfee sure looks the part of a major college prospect, standing at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. The big-bodied QB is known for his athleticism on Friday nights, but he showed that he's more than just a one trick pony by flashing an impressive arm. He made some impressive throws, including peppering the ball on target on several throws over the middle. He's still a little raw, but is a very intriguing prospect.
7
DQB
Noah Vedral (2017)
Wahoo (Neb.) Bishop Neumann
Recruiting wrap: Vedral is waiting for his first offer.
Performance: What impressed most about Vedral was his ability to get the ball out very quickly. He has a compact throwing motion, allowing him to fire the ball out with what looks like a flick of the wrist. His mechanics are very refined for a player his age, and he's likely to impress when he auditions for college coaches this spring and summer.
8
DQB
Kenny Pickett (2017)
Oakhurts (N.J.) Ocean Township
Recruiting wrap: Pickett is waiting on his first offer.
Performance: At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Pickett doesn't quite have ideal size for a major quarterback prospect, but that doesn't mean he should be counted out. He showed an excellent ability to throw on the run and was also very accurate while moving outside of the pocket. He's listed as a dual-threat in the Rivals.com database, so it shouldn't come as a shock that he has a diverse skill set. He still needs to work on his arm strength, but that could come if he adds some more strength to his lower body.
