Cincinnati offers 3-star Atlanta DB Chris Bacon, official visit coming

The Latest: Despite being a three-star prospect, Atlanta (Ga.) Westlake defensive back Chris Bacon has waited quite a while for the offers to come rolling in. But with less than a month until Signing Day, things are starting to heat up. Bacon picked up an offer from Cincinnati on Monday and now the Bearcats appear to be firmly in the mix. Rivals.com caught up with Bacon to get his thoughts.

In His Words: "The offer means a lot for my recruitment, it's one of the biggest offers I've received so far and it's coming at a good time. I know they just hired a new coach and he comes from Ohio State and has a great track record for developing defensive players. Coach Freeman, the new defensive coordinators was telling me I'm one of the top safeties on their board and they want me to get up there for an official visit so I'm going Jan. 13-15."

Rivals Reaction: Bacon has already taken a visit to Eastern Michigan and has a visit set up to local option Georgia State on Jan. 20. The Bearcats are likely to push for a commitment on his trip and if all goes well he could be in the fold sooner rather than later. The one wildcard could be the emergence of other programs coming in with later offers, but as of now things look good for Cincinnati.
