Cincinnati LB focused on season

Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow linebacker Ricardo Thompson is pumped.
No, he's not pumped about having five scholarship offers. No he's not pumped about having plenty of schools recruiting him heavily. He's pumped because today is his team's first football practice, and he's ready to help his team go further than it's gone before.

"We're really excited," Thompson, who is 6-foot-3 and now 225 pounds, said. "We're starting things up tonight with our first practice. We're hoping to go win state, that's what we're shooting for. We're not concerned about anything. We've got a lot of players coming back, and not a lot of holes to fill.
"We just need to go out there and do it."
Thompson has done his part to get ready for the season.
"I got stronger and faster," Thompson said. "I worked hard in the weight room, and I'm a lot stronger than before. I added some good weight, too. I'm also running now in the 4.7 range. That helps me read things a lot better.
"I've also been watching a lot of tape, so that will help me, too. I can read and react to the ball better."
Thompson has offers from Cincinnati, Minnesota, Buffalo, Kent and Miami of Ohio. He said previously that Minnesota and Miami were his favorites, but he's backed off of that somewhat now.
"It's safe to say that everything is up in the air," Thompson said. "I'm not too focused on recruiting, so I don't know what teams are looking the best at this point. I'm more worried about the season at this point."
UConn, Kentucky and Pittsburgh have also been in contact with him throughout the recruiting process.
