Cincinnati adds OL Bowen

Cleveland (Ohio) Shaker Heights offensive lineman Ja'Merez Bowen had planned to take official visits this month, but on Saturday decided he was ready to end the process with a commitment to Cincinnati.
"I think I was just tired of waiting," Bowen said. "So, I let them know I was ready to be a Bearcat.

"I called them tonight and let them know I was going to commit to them. I let Coach [Robert] Prunty know and he was happy because he had been recruiting me really hard."
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Bowen named Cincinnati his leader shortly after taking an official visit to their campus last month. His relationship with the coaching staff was key to his commitment.
"The main reason was because Coach Prunty didn't recruit me as a football player, he recruited me more like he wanted to help me as a person," Bowen said. "He wasn't telling me just stuff that I wanted to hear, he was being more real with me. He was coming straight from the heart."
Bowen had planned to take additional official visits this month, with Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Washington State possible destinations. He did not say for certain that he would not take any more visits, but said he expected they would not take place.
