Chris Scott commits to NC State

After putting up over 800 yards and scoring seven touchdowns as a senior at Dacula (Ga.), Chris Scott saw his recruiting take off.

The NC State Wolfpack was the first power 5 to offer the former Eastern Kentucky commit, and before his official visit to Raleigh ended Sunday, he was committed to the Wolfpack.

"It felt like home at NC State," said Scott. "I told coach D (Dave Doeren) during my visit Sunday. It was my first time there, but it did not feel like it. I got along with the staff good, I bonded with the players fast and I felt like I was home at Dacula.

"I can really say I felt like I was at home. I knew I did not need to take anymore visits."

Vanderbilt was another school Scott was looking to visit before a decision, but this visit quickly pushed the Wolfpack to the top.

Wide receivers coach George McDonald laid out the plan.

"Coach McDonald and I have been talking a lot and he is a great guy. I spent a lot of time with him this weekend and he talked about how he needs someone with my speed on the outside.

"He said he has confidence in me. He wants to at least throw the deep ball my way three times a game and he feels at least one will be a touchdown.

"He likes how I play, how I can help the team and my speed."

Just a few months ago, Scott wasn't sure his recruitment would play out this way. He never doubted his ability, but he wasn't sure if he would be on this level or not when it came time to sign with a college.

He kept working and it all has all paid off.

"Last year, and really my whole life, playing for a Power 5 school was my dream," said Scott. "When I got the offer from NC State, it felt unreal.

"I knew I had the ability and I kept grinding. I have been working hard for this and it is like a dream coming true.

"I got it done, I have committed to NC State and that is going to be my home."
