Chris Scott already making waves

In the wee stages of 2004, even before the 2004 recruiting class had signed on the dotted line, 6-foot-5, 300 pound Lovejoy, Ga., offensive lineman Chris Scott was creating ripples in college circles.
“I now have three written offers from Georgia, Tennessee and most recently Mississippi State,” Scott said.

“Coach Hughes told me that college coaches are calling his office everyday asking about me. He said that Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Florida State, South Carolina and just about everybody else has called and told him that they were going to offer me.”
The massive lineman was named to the Rivals.com junior All-American team and was named class 5A all-state by the Atlanta Journal Constitution as a junior.
“Right now I’m obviously looking at Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi State because they have offered,” he said. “I also like them because I will have teammates at all of those schools. Other than those three I’m looking at Florida State, Ohio State, Auburn, NC State, Maryland and South Carolina.”
Scott admits that he grew up a huge Florida State Seminole fan and said that he would like to stay close to home. That is, if a certain school doesn’t come calling.
“I would leave the South for Michigan,” he said. “Just looking at their program and what they have accomplished and what they do every year I would stupid not to look at them seriously. I would also consider leaving for Ohio State or USC.”
Scott has already taken an unofficial visit to Mississippi State to take in a Bulldog basketball game, as well as an Auburn practice. He said that he plans to attend the Nike Training Camp in Atlanta in May.
