Chris Johnson picks Villanova

Philadelphia (Pa.) Roman Catholic quarterback Chris Johnson made a surprising decision yesterday. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder elected to play for Villanova over offers from Boston College, Buffalo and Temple.
"I committed to Villanova last night," he said. "It's close to my house and they are consistently a good Division I-AA school. They also provide me a great education, so it's a good situation for me. Plus, I'm cool with the players and the coaches are sincere."

As recently as a week ago, Johnson was favoring Buffalo. What changed?
"They came by my house on Wednesday and said they had one quarterback committed and were waiting for another," he said. "If he didn't commit that's when they'd have me come up. Once I heard that, it changed my mind and I decided on Villanova."
Johnson will likely redshirt his first year there
"They told me that my sophomore year I'll be able to compete. That's all I want is a chance."
