Tashard Choice has shuffled the
deck on his official visits.
A member of the Rivals.com
Southeast Top 100 team and the
No. 21 running back in the nation, Choice cancelled his visit to West Virginia
for Jan. 10 and marked the Mountaineers off his list.
"I think they got a JUCO back or something, and I wasn't
sure how I'd fit into their immediate plans after that," he said. "I just
decided to look at some other places."
Choice will now visit Oregon State on Jan. 17, Indiana
for a mid-week visit on Jan. 22, Mississippi State on Jan. 24 and Michigan State
on Jan. 31.
He dropped a visit originally scheduled for Stanford to
make room for Oregon State.
"Coach (Dennis) Erickson started calling from Oregon
State, so that got my attention," he said. "I know he's a great coach, so when
he tells you he wants you bad, you pay attention. I'm really looking forward to
going out there this weekend."
The Beavers will have to play some catch-up, however,
with Choice's current co-leaders.
"Mississippi State and Michigan State are my favorites
right now," he said. "They've been on me for a long time, and I like the way
things are shaping up at those schools. Michigan State's coach (John L. Smith)
was recruiting me real hard when he was at Louisville, and now he's up there in
the Big Ten, so I like the direction they're heading."
As a senior, Choice rushed for more than 1,200 yards,
had 800 yards receiving and scored 20 touchdowns.
