Chilo Rachal Sets Two More Trips

Things are definitely getting interesting for Compton (Calif.) Dominguez offensive lineman Chilo Rachal. The talented guard prospect is excited to take his second official visit of the year this weekend to Washington and also has trips lined up for the following two weeks.
Rachal, 6-5, 300 pounds is one of the top guard prospects in the West region. He had a strong week of practice with the CaliFlorida Bowl team and looked very good in the game as well.

“I was excited to be playing again,” Rachal said. “First I tore up my knee and missed all of pre-season and then we finished 10-0, seeded No. 1 in the playoffs and we have it all taken away from us because of an ineligible player. I was just pumped up to go out there and hit somebody. I had a great time.”
Rachal has already visited San Diego State, will check out the Huskies this weekend and then has UCLA (Jan. 16) and Oregon (Jan. 23) set for the following two weeks.
“I just set up the trip to UCLA tonight,” Rachal said. “I talked to Coach Embree, Dorrell and Bieniemy and they’re all coming in for a home visit next week and bringing in the new offensive line coach, Coach Cable. They said he’s one of the best coaches around and I’m looking forward to meeting him. UCLA kind of stopped recruiting me but I talked to Coach Embree last week on the bus coming from Universal Studios when he called to talk to Terrance (Kelly). Terrance passed his phone over to me and I told Coach Embree I was still interested in them.
“I’m really looking forward to that Oregon visit too. Everyone I’ve talked to who has visited Oregon said it’s one of the best trips they have taken. That’s a great program and they’re one of the best teams in the Pac 10 every year. I really like the coaching staff there and I’ve been talking a lot with Don Pellum lately. He’s real cool. He told me they have four or five guys already committed on the offensive line but they still want me so I’m going to check them out.
“For my last visit, I’m just going to keep that open. I don’t think I need to visit USC because I already know everything about them and I’ve been there a 100 hundred times. Michigan just offered me so I’m thinking about visiting there. Cal has been calling me a lot lately and they’re an option along with Arizona State and possibly Oregon State too. I’m just going to keep it open and will plan that trip later on.”
