Chicola commits before visit
Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School two-star tight end Stephen Chicola was scheduled to visit South Florida this weekend, but there was a change in plans and a commitment before he left.
“He actually committed to Middle Tennessee on Thursday and canceled the visit to South Florida,” his mother T.J. Friedlin said. “We were extremely impressed with the academics up there. They had a major that he’s really interested in and he really likes the coaches.

“It seemed like a good fit.”
Chicola, who is 6-foot-5 and 22 pounds, was also getting interest from Auburn, Florida and N.C. State, but USF and MTSU were his two scholarship offers.
