Chicago lineman adds another offer

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park junior offensive line prospect Ramone Johnson (6-foot-5, 307 pounds) has added his third scholarship offer this spring last Friday from the University of Toledo.
"I found out from my coaches at school on Friday that Toledo has offered me a scholarship," Johnson said. "I have offers now from Illinois, Northwestern and Toledo."

Johnson talked about his latest offer from the Rockets.
"I'm excited about getting an offer from Toledo. They have been a really good team over the last several years, and they have also been a consistent winner in the MAC conference. My former teammate Lester Richmond is heading to Toledo in the fall, and that's all he ever talks about is Rockets this and Toledo that, and he's excited about playing for them. I'll definitely check out what Toledo has to offer."
Johnson also accompanied his parents down to the University of Illinois last Saturday for a spring scrimmage.
"I really wanted my parents to see Illinois for themselves. We stayed at Illinois for a few hours, and we had a chance to talk with the coaches. My parents also had a chance to check out the facilities and the campus. My parents came away with a really good impression of Illinois and they enjoyed the visit."
Does Johnson have an early leader?
"I guess I would say that Illinois is my early leader, but I'm also in no hurry to make any college decisions at this point. I'm still pretty open, and I want to just check out and see what other schools have to offer before I make a decision as important as this one will be for me and my family."
