Chicago duo is on fire in May

The hallways of Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park High School have literally seen as much traffic and backups as the reconstructed Dan Ryan Expressway this spring.
Quarterback Demetrius Jones (6-foot-3, 192 pounds) and wide receiver Chris James (6-foot-0, 177 pounds) have landed multiple scholarship offers, in school visitors and phone calls during the May evaluation period.
"I've been having some phone issues over the last few weeks," Demetrius Jones said. "I just wanted to let you know that I've received some offers over the last week or so.
Jones talked about his latest offers, in school visitors and recent callers.
"I've added scholarship offers from Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana and Tennessee. Today (Monday) in school we had Michigan State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin, and tomorrow the coaches from USC are making an in school visit. So far I've received calls from USC, Florida State, just about the entire Big Ten conference, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Texas and Texas Tech. Honestly, and not to sound cocky at all, but it's been hard to just keep track of the calls I've gotten since Sunday."
Not to be outdone, Chris James has also landed several offers and callers.
"I've also have gotten scholarship offers recently from Penn State, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee and Indiana. It's been pretty crazy at school with all of the in school visitors lately. I've also gotten a ton of calls, but between school and track I've missed most of those calls. I'm still trying to sort through my caller ID and voice mail right now."
James is no question thrilled about being in high demand so far during the May evaluation.
"I'm really happy and really excited about all of the offers and the recruiting attention so far. I had hoped to have this much attention, but it still seems very unreal right now."
Unfortunately, both Jones and James won't be in Ann Arbor this weekend for the Nike Camp, or in the case of Jones the Elite 11 quarterback camp.
"We won't be able to get to Nike this weekend," James said. "We have prom on Friday, then we have a track meet on Saturday so we both won't be able to be at the Nike Camp."
