Chicago DB likes team chemistry

Chicago, Ill. three star ranked cornerback prospect Melvin Rice Jr. (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) from Chicago Morgan Park is excited about the Mustangs season. The Mustangs are the #1 ranked team in Class 7A as the Illinois High School Association football playoffs will begin in two weeks.
“It's exciting so far, no question about it," Melvin Rice Jr. said. “We known that the Chicago Public League has never won a state title in Illinois, and that's something we want to change this year. We want to make history and we play like we have a point to prove each and every week. I really like our team chemistry this year."

Rice Jr. talked about his latest recruiting news.
"I still have offers from Akron, Northern Illinois and Ball State. I've also been getting steady calls from Minnesota, Ohio State, Florida, Iowa and Toledo besides getting calls from the schools that have already offered me."
Rice Jr. was able to check out the Western Michigan/Ball State game a few weeks back at Ball State.
"I made a trip down to Muncie, Indiana to check out a Ball State game. We have an ex-teammate playing at Ball State (Byron Miles) and it was a really good time. I was just floored at the facilities at Ball State. I was able to be on the sidelines for pre-game warmups and I also was able to talk with the coaches after the game."
Rice Jr. has also had plenty of requests for his senior tape this fall.
"My coach (Lexie Spurlock) has told me that he's gotten a ton of tape requests this fall for myself as well as for several of my teammates. He's had at least 15-20 schools request my senior tape."
Rice Jr. is also still pretty open as far as naming any favorites at this point.
"I'm still trying to stay pretty open. Several schools are in the process of making their evaluations on me, so I'll sit down in a few weeks and I'll start to narrow things down."
