Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park three star ranked outside linebacker prospect Phillip Brown (6-foot-0, 215 pounds) decided on Saturday night that he felt so at home with Ball State University he made his final college decision and gave the Ball State coaching staff his verbal commitment.
“I had just an amazing visit to Ball State," Brown said. “I had a really good time, and Ball State just felt like home to me, so I committed to the Ball State coaches on Saturday night."
Brown talked about why he choose Ball State University.
"I see Ball State as a great opportunity for myself both on the field as well as in the classroom. I like the overall improvements I'm seeing for the coaches and the players, and I really feel that Ball State is a program on the rise. Ball State actually had a much nicer campus and facilities than I thought they would, and everything overall was much better than I expected."
"I just went with my gut feeling, and my gut feeling was that Ball State is the right fit for me. The academics are also very solid at Ball State, and the fact that I'll have a really good chance to graduate with a degree really means a lot to myself and my family. My family is as excited as I am right now. They will have a chance to see me play in college."
"Getting a chance to play again with Byron (Miles) is something that was always appealing to me about Ball State. It's like we are getting a Morgan Park connection going at Ball State, and hopefully I can convince a few more of the fella to join us there."
"Ball State really was my leader from the start. They recruited me the hardest from the beginning, and even when I was hurt this season they never backed off in their commitment to me. That meant a lot no question."
"I'm a solid verbal commit to Ball State University."
Brown has official visits set for Ball State on December 3rd and Akron on December 10th.
