Chestnut likes talks with Teevens

Houston Cypress Ridge cornerback prospect Nick Chestnut is a pure athlete that has the ability to do it all on the next level. But one area that he might be even more deadly at than cornerback is on special teams, and he’s proven it twice this year with two huge plays.
“I took a punt return back 72 yards for a score,” Chestnut, who is 5-foot-11 and 169 pounds, said.

“I also took a kickoff back 102 yards. I really only had one person to beat. It really opened up for me. I didn’t think I was that deep in the end zone, but I made my cut and it just really opened up and I took it all the way.”
Chestnut hopes to take it all the way on the recruiting front. He still sits with offers from Arizona State, Stanford, Syracuse, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. He’s also getting regular calls from Wisconsin, Northwestern and TCU.
“I don’t have any visits set yet,” Chestnut said. “I’m still pretty wide open. There are a few coaches that I really like talking to. Coach Teevens at Stanford is one of them that I really like talking to. He’s just really cool.”
Chestnut is playing quarterback and safety this year, but he projects as a cornerback in college.
