Chesapeake WR looking for more offers

Chesapeake (Va.) Great Bridge wide receiver Carvin Powell holds two offers from Army and East Carolina. The 6-foot-2, 199-pounder is making his way through a variety of camps in hopes of picking up more offers in the near future.
"I just came back from East Carolina's passing league and Virginia's passing league," he said. "At ECU, we lost in the semifinals and at Virginia, we lost two games and just missed the playoffs. We didn't have all our players.

"I think I learned a lot playing against different teams and different kinds of competition. It made us work harder."
What's Powell's situation with Virginia?
"I think they are getting ready to offer me," he said. "They talked to me before one of the games and asked what side of the ball I want to play."
The Virginia prospect mentioned the possibility of visits including potential trips to NC State, West Virginia, North Carolina and Penn State. However, he didn't have anything officially scheduled at this time.
Meanwhile, fellow in-state school Virginia Tech continues to monitor him as well.
"I haven't really talked to Tech that much," he said. "They like me on defense, but I don't know what the situation is there."
One school appears to stick out over the rest.
"I've talked to the NC State coaches every day and I'm very high on them," he said. "I have a lot of family in North Carolina and they think I have a good chance of playing early. That's a big plus for me."
