Cherry having a big year

Live Oak (Fla.) Suwannee wide reciever Patrick Cherry may not have the list of offers that teammate and Miami commit Bruce Johnson has, but he certainly means just as much to his team.
"Right now the two offers I have are Iowa State and Charleston Southern," Cherry said. "I have been getting calls and stuff from Florida, Middle Tennessee State, Central Florida and North Carolina."

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Cherry was a consensus Class 3A all-state selection in Florida in 2003. He had 51 receptions for 820 yards and six touchdowns for Suwannee and helped his team make a strong march into the state playoffs.
"I went to the Florida-LSU game last weekend and I got to talk to all of the coaches and stuff," Cherry said. "I really enjoyed the game a lot. Right now I have not set up any official visits, but I am going to take them after the season is over."
So far this season Cherry has caught 30 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns. He has also nabbed one interception on defense.
"Right now my top three are Iowa State, Florida and Central Florida," Cherry said. "I am going to try to wait and take all of my visits first, but there is a chance I could commmit early."
