"I went to Kentucky yesterday for a visit," said Burkett. "It was nice. I like the atmosphere. They had fan day. The coaches were real cool. I like the atmosphere with the fans.
"They said they like my size. They like my highlight tape and film. They said they have the perfect spot for me at this hybrid position at linebacker and safety. I would be all over the field. I liked that."
Burkett spent time with Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips.
"I talked to the head coach," he said. "I like the way he is running things. He broke down the education. He wants to make sure I get my education. They will make sure I have the best coaches to work out at my position and get me to the NFL.
The Wildcats are high on Burkett's list following his first trip to Kentucky. Other schools also have their eyes on the secondary prospect.
"The main schools recruiting me are Arkansas State, Kentucky and Vanderbilt," Burkett said. "I said I would make a decision before the season, but I might wait until the last moment. Since I just came back from Kentucky I like them and Arkansas State. Those are the top two on my list."
Burkett shared his thoughts about his high interest in Arkansas State.
"The years I would be at Arkansas State they would be built up by then," he said. "They are adding on to the stadium. They are getting more exposure."
