Checking in with Austin Usher

Los Angeles (Calif.) Jefferson wide out Austin Usher has been tough for the colleges to find lately and as a result, things are in somewhat of a holding pattern for the talented athlete.
Usher, 6-3, 200 pounds originally committed to Oregon State in early November but backed off that just a few weeks later. He's now playing to take his visits but if things go right, he could pull the trigger this weekend.

"I'm supposed to be visiting Cal this weekend," Usher said. "I keep missing their calls though because our phone was disconnected for awhile and I've also been moving around between my aunts' house and a friends house. The last time I talked to them, it was two weeks ago and the visit was on. They called me twice last week but I lost their number. I need to try and get it so I can call them up and tell them I'm still planning on visiting.
"I've been missing calls from a lot of coaches and I haven't been able to schedule any home visits with them either. I know the schools have wanted to come in but I just haven't been able to get that done. Hopefully I'll get to talk to them a little more and everything will take care of itself.
"Cal is definitely my leader right now and even though I want to take more of my trips, if things go right this weekend, there's a good chance I could commit on the visit. If not, I have a trip set to Arizona (Jan. 14) and also plan on visiting Oregon and Washington although I haven't set up those dates yet."
