Cheatham pledges to NW
Northwestern once again went to the San Leandro, Calif., well of talent and received a verbal commitment from three star wide receiver Sam Cheatham (5-11, 175, 4.45). Northwestern earlier received the of Cheatham’s teammate Reggie McPherson (6-1, 185, 4.55).
“We as a family are very happy with his decision,” Sam’s Mom said. “We were very impressed by everything that the school has to offer.”

Cheatham chose Northwestern because he is very academically inclined and he liked how the staff stressed academic excellence as well as athletics.
Cheatham had 65 catches for 1,110 yards and 15 touchdowns his senior season and was a pretty fair corner racking up 60 tackles and picked off four passes.
