Chase says reports not true

SMU’s top recruit in its Class of 2004 is Irving, Texas, three-star tight end Vincent Chase.
But there was a huge stink stirring in Dallas last week when another recruiting service reported that the 6-foot-5, 243-pound tight end was going to take other visits. However, Chase wants to set the record straight.

“I think a lot of people were upset that it was let out that I wanted to take other visits,” Chase said. “But I have talked to coach Bennett and made it clear to him that those reporters weren’t telling the truth. I’m not going on any other visit. It stirred a lot of stuff up, but I’m still going to SMU and that’s the only thing that needs to be reported.”
That’s great news for the Pony fans that were all up in arms after the report last week. But now that Chase has cleared the situation up, you can expect him to make his official visit on January 9 to the campus in Dallas.
“I’m excited to be playing with my brother next year,” Chase said about his brother, Bobby Chase, who is also heading to SMU from Blinn (Texas) College. “He’s up to 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. SMU wants him to play receiver for them.
“He took his visit to SMU last weekend, and he really liked it a lot.”
