Charlotte stud DE still taking visits

Charlotte (N.C.) Victory Christian defensive end Kourtnei Brown has been one of the fastest rising recruits in the country when he was back on the market after Alabama fired Mike Shula. Has the hiring of Nick Saban made the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder reconsider his decision to look around?
"He's still looking at some schools," Victory Christian head coach Frank Crockett said. "I can say this about the Nick Saban hire, Kourtnei doesn't really know who coach Saban is. He's going to take his visit there and evaluate everything and then go from there.

"At this time, he hasn't set a visit to Alabama. I'm pretty sure we'll be hearing from their staff soon once everyone gets settled there, and then we'll see about a visit. As far as his commitment, I think a lot of it in relation to Alabama will hinge on how the meeting with coach Saban goes."
Meanwhile, two schools have officials planned with the three-star prospect.
"Kourtnei is planning to go to Clemson on January 12th, Tennessee on January 19th and hopefully Virginia Tech somewhere in there too," he said. "He was planning to take a visit to Michigan, but I don't know how that is going to work out. I can say he's definitely looking at them still."
While Brown is still committed to the Tide, Crockett believes another school is leading for his services.
"In my opinion, Clemson is probably his frontrunner," he said. "I think it's because of the way they've been courting him, it's not just from the recruiting coach but the entire staff."
