Charlotte DT working on grades

Defensive tackle Curtis Porter may be one of the most talented prospects in North Carolina, so it should come as no surprise that he is receiving interest from plenty of top programs.
Perhaps the only thing standing between the Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte linemen and several offers are lingering questions about his grades.

Porter said he is working with a tutor and is confident his academic situtation will be straightened out in time for college. If that's the case he probably has a lot to look forward to. The 6-foot-2, 334-pound tackle bench presses 350 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.1 seconds.
Which school has expressed the most interest?
"Oh, Duke University," he said emphatically. "I'm somewhat interested in them. I'm cool with (the coaches). They're like brothers. Right now I sort of have some offers but I need to get my SAT scores right. That's the only thing holding them up."
While he's focusing on academics right now, Porter will have a busy summer.
"I'm going to (camp at) Wake Forest, Duke, Tennessee ... I'm going to Vanderbilt and Miami," he said. "Oh man, there are just so many. I want to go to Notre Dame but I'm not sure because of the money. There are just a lot."
Who has he been in contact with?
"I've been talking to some schools. Duke, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Notre Dame. Basically all the good schools in the SEC, ACC, Big Ten and Big Twelve."
