Keller, Texas running back Hugh Charles took his first official visit of the year this weekend.
"The trip to Colorado was great," the 5-foot-7, 182-pound Charles said. "I had a lot of fun there. I met a lot of people and got to see a lot of things."
The three-star rated all-pupose back was impressed with the academic side of the Big 12 school.
"The campus was really nice," he said. "They explained to me the academic programs that were available. There are some good majors out there to consider."
Charles ranks the Buffs at the top of his list after the visit, but two other schools are close behind.
"They are up there right now," he said. "I just got back and everything is still fresh in my mind. But, I am still very interested in K-State and Texas A&M. I want to see both of those schools too. I don't have any official visits set up with them yet or anything. But, I will."
Keller's season opened Friday night with a 48-16 victory.
"We won and that is the main thing," Charles said. "I didn't get the ball as much as I would have liked. But I had 116 yards on 11 carries. So it was alright."
