Irvin Charles is one of the top recruits in New Jersey for the 2015 class. The wide receiver from Haddonfield (N.J.) Paul VI only has four offers right now but one already stands out.
"I have Temple, Rutgers, UMass and Old Dominion," said the 6-foot-4, 207-pound Charles. "The Old Dominion offer came about very suddenly. I had no idea it was going to happen. The recruiter came to practice and a week later I had an offer from them."
Although it is very early in the process for Charles, one school is already head and shoulders above the rest.
"Rutgers is my favorite right now because of the energy they bring," he said. "I also like the fact that they are like a family. I went to one of their games and it was crazy."
Plenty of other schools are hoping to land Charles.
"I've heard from Oregon, Kansas State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Alabama and the list continues from there," Charles explained. Right now all of those schools are just keeping in contact with me by sending some paperwork to fill out."
Charles was one of the top performers at the Newark RCS and Rutgers Passing Camp.
