Charest names top schools

Matthews (N.C.) Butler is loaded with talent in 2008. Most people know about the three defensive backs in Spencer Adams, Eddie Whitley and Robert Blanton. The school also features a 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback in Jacob Charest who holds four offers.
"I just recently attended the Nike Camp at Athens and Elite 11 in Atlanta," he said. "I felt like I did pretty well. I haven't found out if I'm one of the players to make it to San Diego yet, but I think I showed those in attendance that I have some good footwork and a strong arm."

In the coming weeks, Charest hopes to take some visits to colleges.
"I'm going to try to take trips around here for a bit," he said. "Then I'm looking at the Louisville camp or a visit there. I'm really trying to get to California and Illinois sometime this summer too."
Currently the North Carolina prospect claims four scholarships.
"I have offers from Louisville, California, Illinois and Akron," he said. "I previously had one from NC State, but the new staff wants to see me throw in camps before they'll offer. That's a big reason I'm going to the Adidas camp on May 19th."
Meanwhile, one other college is mentioning an offer.
"Oregon has talked to my coach and they said they like me," he said. "They said they are planning to offer, but want to hold off for a bit."
Charest went on to announce his top three schools at this time.
"Right now I'd say it is Louisville, California and Illinois," he said. "If NC State offers they'll be up there too. I like those colleges because they are all strong programs, I've been in contact with the coaches and I like them."
Charest posted 3,011 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions as a junior.
